Sky Valley, Georgia // North Georgia Wedding
Sky Valley, Georgia is a ski resort way in the top east corner of Georgia. You actually have to dip into North Carolina for a minute to get there! You drive through beautiful winding mountain roads and expansive farmland to get there. Once you turn in, you suddenly find yourself in the cutest little community that is all aimed towards making your stay in the mountains enjoyable.
When I first heard from Laura and Andy about photographing their wedding there, I was hooked! Their ceremony and reception was held at Community Bible Church of Sky Valley, and much to our delight, there was a waterfall just a few minutes down the road that we were all excited to visit as well. A mountain resort AND a waterfall? Count me in!
One family coming together
Throughout the planning process and working with Laura and Andy, it was apparent that one of the most important part of their day was to witness their daughters become sisters. Laura and Andy had mentioned they had made a painted sign with all of their handprints that said "Blended and Blessed." That was an important shot for them to get during their wedding day! They also presented the girls with necklaces before the ceremony as another symbol of them become sisters.
It was incredibly special to see the both of them have special moments with their daughters both individually and collectively.
The sign on the front of the church said "One Heart," which was a perfect way to represent their family coming together. We made sure to plan a few of their family pictures with that sign in the background!
They had a beautiful sign for their ceremony that had rope braids representing the strength of their faith in the Lord being of utmost importance in their marriage. After the ceremony, the new family entered back into the reception all together- with Andy swinging the girls around and all four of them dancing as one. I loved photographing their first dance as a husband and a wife shortly after their entrance.
Adventures at the Waterfall!
After a wonderful dinner made possible with catering from the ladies at Community Bible Church of Sky Valley, it was time for Laura, Andy and I to visit the nearby waterfall for some intimate pictures of just them with the beautiful waterfall as the backdrop. We had just a short walk to the falls and used the beauty of the scene to feature Laura and Andy's love for each other!
